Empowering teacher leaders, instructional coaches, school administrators and district-level leaders to drive lasting systems change
The Lead for Learners Emerging Leaders program is designed to help schools and districts sustain personalized, competency-based learning by cultivating essential leadership skills from the classroom to the district level.

Personalized leadership development aligned to the Portrait of a Leader
Through collaborative learning, personalized coaching, self-reflection and goal setting, Emerging Leaders cohort participants are developing five essential leadership attributes identified by educators in personalized, competency-based systems from across the U.S.: Human-Centered, Authentic, Collaborative, Advocate and Transformational.
Professional learning goals
Through a year-long cohort facilitated by KnowledgeWorks’ systems change experts, participants in Emerging Leaders cohorts:
- Develop essential skills for leading transformational change
- Engage in self-reflection and personalized growth
- Design and implement a personalized action plan based on their role, influence and local learner-centered vision.
- Get actionable insights and transformative leadership strategies through small group coaching
- Apply learning to real-world leadership challenges through scenario-based exercises and collaborative problem-solving
- Build and sustain a supportive leadership network
